My name is Angela Wells and I am a Queer visual artist living on the territory of the Lekwungen and WSANEC peoples (Victoria, BC).

I have been working as a full time artist since 2020, primarily creating impasto paintings and tattooing out of Black Cat Tattoo. I have been creating visual art from an early age and have always enjoyed tackling a range of different styles, mediums, and subjects.

For my impasto paintings, I like to use a lot of paint, layering it on canvas with palette knives and using piping bags to manipulate it like frosting. Many of the pieces I create have a process video to go along with them which allows the viewer to be fully immersed in my process.

My tattoo style is always evolving as I learn and grow as an artist. Recently I have been creating a lot of fluid abstract work. I love to challenge myself with symmetrical designs, but also am always down to tattoo something small & silly!
